The participants are brought together through an open call. The performed song is developed as a group by prioritizing the issues of performing and expressing oneself. There are anticipated problems of continuity due to bipolar disorder itself; the performance is planned keeping this in mind. In choreography, relationships are drawn between the repetitions in the original song and the strophe-antistrophe structure of choruses in Ancient Greek plays. Togetherness is a biproduct of the performance development process, which leads the participants to accept, appreciate, and live more at peace with themselves.
In performance, the singers authentically aim for the best result; however, being bipolar and amateurs, they fail. The only stage prop they use, a metronome, highlights the accord and discord with the underlying beat. The project as a research inquires into the effects of the performers’ deviations from the song(mistakes): Do mistakes lead to noise? What makes a good result? Is authentic practice sufficient for a satisfying result? For what reasons are which mistakes rendered problematic?
